Govt gets mouthful on drought management

The government has come in for severe criticism from the Lok Sabha Estimates Committee for its poor management of drought and food grain production.

Tabling the report in the Lok Sabha, the committee lambasted the functioning of various government departments for its poor functioning and asked the ministry of agriculture to immediately set up a new division to analyze future requirements of the country and to initiate measures to augment the production of food grains and traditional crops.
